Pakistan First

Despite countless different problems in Pakistan, both the big opposition parties are rather focusing on accusing and abusing each other.

We heard how social media fueled the whole arab spring. Though in Pakistna there is nothing like arab spring, because apparently this time around we want to bring change with our votes, but the social media has become extremely active here in recent times. With the general elections round the corner, some analysts have gone to the extent of predicting that social media will influence public opinion more than on-the-ground campaigning.

Until recently PTI has an almost complete grip over the whole social media. And PTI has been often mocked as party of internet users. But recently we`ve seen that PTI`s internet popularity has also inspired other major political parties to enter in this ground. And though one of the largest parties of Pakistan PPPP is still almost non-existent on social media, PML(n) has made quite a space for themselves. Its a good think because it provides chance to millions of users to share their political views with each other and to discuss manifestos of diffrent parties. But it has been observed that social media has rather effected negatively.

On ground both these parties,PTI and PML(n), are busy in dirty game of abusing each other, without realizing coultless problems that we as a nation are facing. But rather more unfortunately , this phenomena of abusing each other is going more strongly among the supporters of these two parties on social media. The supporters of both parties see their leaders as angels who can not do anything wrong. They feel it their duty to defend every wrong and right of their leader. And they have gone so far in this practice that it seems to me like their parties are more important to them than their country. And Its not about supporters of any single party, this phenomena is common amongst all parties.

I have decided to vote for PTI in next elextions and i had been a vocal supporter for PTI or should I say i am a supporter of PTI. But I never thought that Imran Khan can never do anything wrong. He clearly had made many wrong decisions recently. He came up with a vision for youngsters and new people and honestly now these things are quite difficult to find in PTI. I wanted him to stop accusing others and presnt his own policies and manifestoes but until recently the focus of his politics is basicly on accusing and abusing others. But I`ll not go deep into his policies because my focus is on what his supporters are doing in social media. Firstly they want everyone to praise PTI. And if any journalist or analyst expresses his views against some policy or decision of PTI, firstly he`ll have to face abuses and then whole social media will be full with photos and posts that will suggest that he has been paid by PML(n). Same is the case with PML(n) supporters.

There is nothing like ethics that these people follow. They`ll abuse the leaders of other parties and they never feel any hesitation in entering into personal lives of those politicians. I rarely see them discussing policies, most of the times the discussion is centerd around useless topics. They`ll discuss on why Ik is drinking water with left hand, why jamima is still meeting Ik, Imran`s children are jews, Nawaz sharif has affairs with foreign journalists. They accuse each others leaders baselssely and they don`t need any proofs.

The problem with all this is that all these peole have forgotten that basically everbody wants improvement in Pakistan. We have nothing to do with these leaders. We support them because we like what they say and what they present for Pakistan. If one party comes up with something good for Pakistan, why not to praise its policy even if you are supporting the other party. And if your own party has a wrong policy on some issue why to defend it. We should speak against it because it is Pakistan that matters to us not these political parties. But what you see on social media is that every body is madly defending everything that comes from party that they are aupporting whether its good or harmful for Pakistan, it does not matter.

My request to all these people on social media is to support Pakistan and think for Pakistan. Because for all of us there should not be anything more important than Pakistan and we support political parties for the sake of Pakistan. So raise above parties, be a Pakistani.

  1. As salaam Alaykum !
Arslan ! Brother , that's a fantastic piece of writing that really worths a massive social attention.
Our political affiliations have indeed turned us blind and we've become so much emotional that even we can't hear & bear a healthy criticism against our likes.
Social media is meant to be a place for developing a constructive view-point in youth about any specific issue. But for days , it's been observed that this rubbish thought has been accumulated over here in which Party-ism has become above than Pakistan-ism.
Very Glad to read this , spread the word.
    Khush Raho :)

  2. very well written Muhammad Arslan , very well analysed , the dogmatism in our people when it comes their political affiliations is not a concealed fact and U have rightly pointed out to the real positive approach of raising above parties and thinking for the sake of pakistan , acquiring the guts to praise the GOODS of our political opponents as well !!!

  3. Arslan m really glad that finally someone focused on this point and bring it out....I am happy to see the awareness among the youth but the point which depressed me is that recently i talked to some people who were receiving monthly money from Benazir income support program they said that we will vote for PPPP just because of few rupees...Number of these kind of people is large who sell their vote for few rupees and actually they sell the future of Pakistan...m that kind of person, who got tear into his eyes with happiness when pakistan won world cup in 2009...whenever i hear national anthem...
Why policts dont love their country...why why why
M a supporter of Imran khan...and will definately vote for him (InshaAllah)..But the blind supporters of other parties made me depressed. I can only Pray for my country...Long Live Pakistan (Ameen)

    2. Faisal i don`t blame these people . .there is so much poverty around that you can not deny . .But I have always believed that the basic problem in our system is the lack of education . . I mean as an educated person you`ll think of all good and bad things before voting . . But an illiterate person, in a general case, do not have that ability to analyze things that well

  4. I appreciate you on having and conveying a good piece of perception among the supporters of different parties, who i don't think doing what they should be doing.
i must say its a legit piece of writing cos i'm agreed to most of it and the idea you want to convey is very close mine ones.
and the points i ain't agree to will discuss with you in a person.
and its damn right such supporters exist who just can't listen to anything against their leaders instead of against Pakistan.
they'd better start thinking about their country instead of being blind supporters.
good message , expect more like that

  5. janab i agree with u ---- there is a rubbish fight between PTI & PMLN suppoters these days----- they are just blaming each other-- imran khan asked 11 questions from nawaz shareef --- khawaja asif played his dirty tactics against shukat khanum ---- they are playing media politics and in this scenrio their supporters have forgotten their moral limits, even sometimes abuse each other ---
so, all of us have to think logically, change ourself first, our views and perceptions------ then everything will be all right
if we observe the pak history, then we'll came to know no one is honest, everyone's past is not clean---its time to move on rather blaming each other ----

  6. Assalam O Alaikum Guys!
First of all appreciation for arslan who really made a Thumbs up effort.
I also was observing this and having a glance on both the pages ( Supporting IK and the other which is against him ).
I think arslan this thing is in our blood. Whenever we are with some person whether he is a cricketer or a politician we do our best to defend him. I just want to say that we should understand that no body is 100 % perfect. everyone make mistakes. So we should reduce the everest of expectations that we have from our candidate. Don't expect too much otherwise there will be disappointment.
And last of all as arslan said Pakistan should be our 1st priority not these parties.
    Pakistan Zinda-Bad

  8. GOOD WORK!
but pti never used abusive language rather they are blaming. but its the soul of ik's politics if he wont accuse pmln of his corruption etc how people will realize and come to him and one more thing that there accusations are not mere blames he has got proof nd logic of everything he says..

i also observed these kind of thoughts from supporters but they are not politically aware. but u look at your Govt party they also follow madly their so called leaders... "bb shaheed" "zulfiqar Shaheed" what is this non seance. they dont think about pakistan. some parties only have local agendas. they are not patriots. think for pakistan not for personal benefits. all of us are independent only because of pakistan. pakistan will remain forever. pakistan Zindabad.

Great piece on this alarming situation by arslan. thumbs up:)
we should think about what is good for our country not about personal character of politicians. if someone is determined to do good for our country, then stand by him and let him do so..may ALLAH unite our nation.

You did the best job Mr.Arslan, main nay basically wohi baat kehni thee jo Faisal Khalid bhai nay mention kee, keh agar to awaam ko abhi bhi Load Shedding, bay rozgaari, mehngaai, corruption, worst law and order situation naheen nazar aa rahi aur dubara woh aik waqt kay khaanay kay liye yaa benazir income support kay liye yaa laptop kay liye mulk ko daao par lgaa kar apnaa vote baichnaa chahtay hain to well we deserve it aur phir esaa hee ho gaa jesa ho raha hai, as far as I think jo cheezen main nay ooper mention kee hain is kay liye aik shakhs kaa parha likha honaa zaroori to naheen hai, Insha Allah this time people will bring the change by their vote when voters lists would be correctly updated !
Khair main aap kay topic say idhr udhr hogyaa, aap nay bilkul theek baat kee bhai we must not support wrong policies of our political parties and they must be tested on merit, I too am worried to some extent about the induction of old and winning horses in PTI !
Behr haal hum to sirf duaa kar sktay hain aur logon ko smjhaa sktay hain kay Allah kay liye apnaa vote sahee use kren and please chose the best available political party !
Allah sy duaa hai kay hum sab ko fehm o frasat ataa farmaye !
    Jazak Allah !

  13. Arslan..Actually educated people can understand these blame games but what about the real masses?? I was 15 in 1997 when PML_N literally r_ped both PPP and PTI by their blame games and mudslinging on BB and IK..For BB they used to publish her pics of university in their sponsored papers and for IK they targetted SKMH,His wife and his cricketing yrs..

Problem is that when Khawaja Asif came with his stupid and baseless allegations against SKMT,the educated ppl knew how frivolous these allegations were but what about uneducated awam on T-stalls,on Khokas, on Pavements??Can they understand what Endowment Fund means?? PML-N is not bothered abt educated awam as they knew the enlightened ones will never come towards them..They are just bothered about the awam that they have befooled for yrs and now are turning away from them..

PTI has already taken some revolutionary steps by holding intra party elections, presenting two detailed conferences on Energy and Local Govt system with Economic conference coming at the end of August..However these are the things that we are interested in..The uneducated voter which is in majority is interested to know that has Nawaz Sharif done anythng wrong? Has IK done anything wrong?..If IK has asked 11 legitimate questions to nawaz sharif which by the way are also in the cases against Sharif bros lying pending in upreme court then whts wrong with it??
PTI's policy making isnt getting compromised by this but if u just sit idle without answering the allegations raised against u and asking questions from oppenents then it will be a repeat of 1997..

In media too IK is always asked about each and everything..be it his home, his marriage, his glamorous past life etc etc but have u ever seen any anchor or any journalist asking Nawaz Sharif directly abt his Money laundering case thts in SC,abt his low tax returns, abt his billion dollars assets outside Pakistan..No they dont ask him so in such conditions where Nawaz Sharif is not even questioned by media ,PTI has to ask questions from him...

Trust me Pakistan wont suffer one bit if our countrymen can somehow see the true face of Zardari and Sharifss..However this country will suffer if we end up electing these family mafias once again in next elections.

One of the marvelous piece of writing and prodigious analysis i have ever ever read on patriotism gr8 effort arslan bro.....
The same thing i was discussing with my brother last night good to see some writing on it.First i was really shocked to read that these words are from a man who is keenly supporting a party and now good to see their revolutionary thinking.Spread your superb message so that our ramble young generation who thinks that supporting and defending their party with silly references helps in building a strong and prosper Pakistan.
Keep on writing like this may Allah give you power and strength to write truth and re-deem the literary circle.:)

good arsalan,u have done a great job
i am happy to see that now u have seen the reality of these debauch politicians.actually, now we should not look upon these people because they all are the rotten eggs of same hen.we have seen these polticians working.enough is enough.now we should adopt some strategy to aware the people to get rid of these politicians.we should improve the governence of pakistan.i think we should follow islamic principles in this aspect. we all muslims should be united and inculcate the principles of islam in the whole country. majlis e wahdat e muslimeen is prone to adopt united muslims policy.we shoud look upon them.our all ulemas and scholars are united and we should seek them to relief palistan

  17. I don't see a Large CHANGE Behind General Elections..... The Reason has diversity in its nature... First thing we should know is that Political Change is not as Important as SOCIAL CHANGE!! which needs Higher Literacy Rate, Passion by People, A desire in them to change themselves, Equality of Law and A Great level of Dedication by people of Every Field....
If you don't agree with me, No Problem.... Go outside and drive a little on Road..... In Just a few minutes you will see Lawlessness, Inequality, Ignorance, Carelessness and all the things saying "THIS COUNTRY IS STILL NOT READY FOR CHANGE"
